André Cândido is an art director with 9+ years of experience connecting the dots between brand, design, and strategy.
Most recently, I was the Art Director at Swell, and SuperHi before that, where I led a global and remote team through a brand refresh. Previously, I developed visual identities and worked on award-winning projects for a variety of contexts in the space where culture and commerce meet, from a book for a renowned theatre to a catalogue for an airline. My experience spans education, eCommerce, exhibition, and editorial design, in environments ranging from startups to agencies.
I immerse myself in cultivating cultural and consumer awareness through literature and art as a way of adding value to my craft. This enables me to build visual solutions that push brands forward while engaging people in ways that spark both attention and curiosity. My expertise is in creating scalable brand systems, where I connect strategy to brand to conceptualize and build visual layers that are easy to use for a range of applications by product, marketing, and content teams.
Outside of work, you can find me swimming twice a week, playing board games, or reading and collecting independent magazines.
